MOM - "An RNA-based theory of natural universal computation"

Linguistics Wednesday, November 15, 2023 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm Marie Mount Hall, 3416J (Wimbledon)

November 1, the Mind Over Matter Group discusses Hessameddin Akhlaghpour's 2022 paper, "An RNA-based theory of natural universal computation," which argues that "a set of basic RNA editing rules can make it possible to compute any computable function with identical algorithmic complexity to that of Turing machines, [which] demonstrates that universal computation is well within the reach of molecular biology."
