Wednesday September 9 at 2pm, the University hosts its Fall Convocation for faculty and staff. "Convocation is a time for the university community to come together and officially usher in the academic year by celebrating academic and service honorees, selected by their peers, to be awarded for their achievements." This time, we will be celebrating (at least?) the bestowal of Valentine's Distinguished Scholar-Teacher award, announced in April. As part of the award, Valentine will be giving a public lecture on October 21, presenting her research.
