Wednesday December 4, the last meeting of the Meaning Meeting has veterans Yunhui and Caleb *24 workshopping some new ideas on local contexts and disjunctions, abstracted below.

We observe that besides anankastic conditionals, there are also disjunction of a similar profile, which we call anankastic disjunctions. We suggest that these disjunctions should be grouped together with another type of disjunctions of the form 'have to A, or will B'. To derive the data, we suggest a preference-parameter-shifting use of 'want' and 'have to'. This will conspire with the connective and result in an updated preference parameter. The modal in the consequent or the right disjunct will be comstrained by the updated preference parameter.
