October 27, Allison Dods, Katherine Howitt and Sathvik Nair lead the Psycholinguistics Workshop, workshopping their project on LLMs and the acquisition of A-bar movement, which they plan to submit to a special issue on LLMs and Acquisition for JML. The questions are: What generalizations can LLMs make across different long-distance dependencies using a paradigm introduced by Wilcox et al. 2021? And what can those generalizations can tell us about the input and biases necessary for child language acquisition? Come and help out with your feedback!
