Congratulations to recent graduate Adam Liter *22, who has since January been employed as a Machine Learning Scientist for Glassdoor, a "website where current and former employees anonymously review companies." March 18 Adam defended his dissertation, "Explorations in diagnosing competence and performance factors in linguistic inquiry," with advisors Jeff Lidz and Norbert Hornstein, and supported by a Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant from the National Science Foundation. Work related to Adam's dissertation, co-authored with Jeff Lidz and Elaine Grolla, was also recently published in Language Acquisition, with Adam arguing that "Cognitive inhibition explains children’s production of medial wh-phrases."
