Colin to head Section Z of the AAAS

Flying the flag for language in the science ecosystem.

Congratulations to Colin Phillips, who is to be Chair of Section Z of the American Academy for the Advancement of Science, its division for Linguistics and Language Science. There, with fellow Terrapin Nan Ratner joining the steering group, Colin says he will "fly the flag for language as part of the broader science ecosystem." Over the last several years prior to the pandemic, many Marylanders were an active part of the Language Science for Everyone effort that put language in the AAAS’s Family Science Days events.
