Congratulations to former postdoc Dan Goodhue, who heads to Michigan State University for a fixed term position as Assistant Professor. Dan was at Maryland from 2018 till Summer of 2022, continuing his work on epistemic modality and the pragmatics of prosody, while joining Valentine and Jeff in their work on acquisition of the relation between clause types and speech act categories, and teaching a variety of courses. He then went to Berlin for a two-year postdoc with Manfred Krifka at ZAS. Now he heads to East Lansing and the Department of Linguistics at MSU, from which two of Maryland's most senior PhD alums have retired, Alan Munn *93 and Cristina Schmitt *96, and which more recently sent us Mina Hirzel *22 and Adam Liter *22.
