April 03, 2021 Linguistics

Professor Ellen Lau, grinning with eyes cast downward in thought, standing in front of a window and a framed picture of travel

On the neurobiology of semantics and its relation to syntax.

April 9, Ellen Lau presents "More thought, less ‘words’: Reframing the questions in neurobiology of syntax and semantics," an invited talk at The Neurobiology of Language: Key Issues and Ways Forward, a two-day online seminar to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Max Plank Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen, emceed by Peter Hagoort. In line with the prospective theme of the event, Ellen's talk promises progress in the neurolinguistics of syntax and semantics, once we get clear on the actual coins of these realms.
