On thinking and finding that Nice is nice.

October 13 at the University of Côte d'Azur in Nice, Jéssica Mendes (LING) and Caleb Kendrick (PHIL) present a paper at the 12th meeting of Semantics and Philosophy in Europe, titled "Thinking (and finding) compositionally". The paper concerns the Brazilian Portuguese verb achar, which can be translated as either think or find, depending on the syntax of its complement, providing an analysis of the alternation, and relating this to other theories of subjective attitude verbs and predicates of taste.
