Luisa and Masha in Armenia

Teaching courses on exceptives and bilingualism.

June 29-July 10, Professor Emerita Maria Polinsky and the Class of 2025's Luisa Seguin are in Armenia for YALP, the Yerevan Academy for Linguistics and Philosophy, an annual summer school organized in part by Oxford's Daniel Altshuler, and hosted by the American University of Armenia, in Yerevan, one of the world's oldest continually inhabited cities. Luisa, presently a postdoc in Nice with Lena Baunaz at the Université Côte d'Azur, is teaching a one week course on "The syntax and semantics of exceptive and exclusive constructions," work stemming from Masha's NSF Grant on the topic. Masha herself willl spend the following week teaching about "Everything you always wanted to know about bilingualism but were afraid to ask."
