On heritage language after the pandemic, and acquiring anti-agreement in Berber.

June 5-8 UCLA hosts the Fourteenth Heritage Language Research Institute, with an introductory talk from Maria Polinsky, and a lightning talk and poster from Imane Bou-Saboun, on "The acquisition of Anti-Agreement by future heritage speakers of Tashlhiyt Berber." Also involved is alum Rodrigo Ranero *21, who joins co-authors for a talk on "Lesser Studied Languages: Mayan and Kumeyaay/Kumiai." The Institute is organized by UCLA's National Heritage Language Resource Center, which "a federally funded language resource center whose mission is to develop effective pedagogical approaches to teaching heritage language learners, both by creating a research base and by pursuing curriculum design, materials development, and teacher education."
