May 12, Maria Polinsky is in New Haven, speaking about "Semantics, indigenous languages, and linguists in the community," with a focus on her work with speakers of K'iche' and Tsez, as part of invited panel at SALT(ED), a workshop concurrent with SALT organized by the the SALT Equity and Diversity Committee. Formed in 2020 "to help make semantics and pragmatics more equitable and diverse," SALT(ED) has included in the three years of its existence Clara Cuonzo and Jéssica Mendes as student representatives, and Valentine Hacquard as a faculty representative in its inaugural committee.
