Maria Polinsky joins a 3-year project on Grammatical Dynamics in Language Contact, led by Heike Wiese at the University of Potsdam and funded by the German Research Foundation, as one of two Mercator Fellow visiting professors.

German Research Foundation
, as one of two
Mercator Fellow
visiting professors, along with
Shana Poplack
of the University of Ottawa. The project will analyze the usage of bilingual speakers with a migration background – mainly heritage speakers of Russian, Turkish and Greek in Germany and the USA – with the aim of contributing to theories of language contact and variation.
