Phoebe Gaston and
Kasia Hitczenko, two of only 18 students in Linguistics to win
Honorable Mention from the NSF GRFP competition! Phoebe and Kasia's project proposals were titled "Modeling syntax for a linear parser: Neural evidence for constraints of hierarchical structure in probabilistic models of auditory comprehension" and "Does speech normalization help infants acquire the sound system of their language?". Also honored was former Baggett Fellow,
Erin Bennett, now a student in Psychology at Stanford.
