On the problem of binding to object indices, beyond perceptual features.

Sizzling hot in Cognitive Science, from Xinchi Yu and Ellen Lau: The binding problem 2.0: Beyond perceptual features. The binding problem is the question of how we correctly represent the correspondence between a feature and the object that has it, when encoding multiple objects and multiple features. In Xinchi and Ellen's brief letter, they argue that this issue extends across cognitive science, beyond the domain in which it has most been discussed, namely vision, laying out the hypothesis that the same resources might be involved in representing reference and predication in language comprehension.
