Maître de conférence in Aix-Marseille University's new Institute for Language, Cognition and the Brain

Congratulations to postdoc Thomas Schatz, who is to be maître de conférence (the equivalent of an Assistant Professor) at the recently established Institute for Language, Cognition and the Brain of Aix-Marseilles University, at its Marseilles campus. Thomas leaves Maryland after three years supervised by Naomi Feldman, culminating in their 2021 paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, "Early phonetic learning without phonetic categories: Insights from large-scale simulations on realistic input." Thomas's new university was founded in 1409 as the University of Provence, by Louis II of Anjou, with the support of Antipope Alexander V.
